3/30/2023 0 Comments Dont starve together wesHounds pick a target based on weight and Wes is just weighed twice as much. The hound and lightning changes don't really change anything. In exchange for those significant upsides he lost stats and has -30 insulation for both winter and summer. Wes is actually utilizing resources better than an "average" character thanks to this rework. Thulecite club is not a super popular weapon at the moment because it can't be field crafted, but as we've shown, Wes is exceptional and more efficient with dark swords for normal enemies like hounds and because he's getting over 15k damage from a single club, he'd only need 2 for most large health bosses like Bee Queen and Dragonfly and even just 1 is enough for Klaus on average. Approximately ~6% more total damage than an average character. This results in a total of 15,546 damage. Wes can attack 267 times, dealing 44.625 damage with the same odds for the tentacle. This means that a full club's durability will output 14,620 damage. A typical character can swing a club 200 times, dealing 59.5 damage a swing with a 20% chance to summon a tentacle that preforms a single double attack for a total of 68 damage. So let's look at the total damage a character can do with a Thulecite club now. Those may seem like really cherry picked breakpoints (despite being some of the most important breakpoints in the game). This means that he can kill 67 spiders or 44.66 hounds per dark sword, a marked improvement over normal characters using the same weapon. This allows him to kill a spider in 2 attacks and a hound in 3 attacks exactly the same as other survivors but now he has 34% more durability. Now let's look at Wes, he can attack with a dark sword 134 times dealing 51 damage each time. To put it another way, a normal character could kill 50 spiders or 33.33 hounds with 1 dark sword. This allows them to kill a spider in 2 attacks or a hound in 3 attacks. A normal character can attack with it 100 times dealing 68 damage each time. But for weapons, this actually starts to become a pretty nutty advantage.Ĭonsider a dark sword. Using a normal flint axe against medium trees, Wes actually harvests 20.6 logs per axe compared to normal survivors only getting 20 logs per axe. The weird way that the game does math means that Wes actually gets to harvest more resources with the same tools as other survivors.įor tools, this is a minor benefit at best. Tools are now 25% less effective when chopping/mining/hammering BUT he now gets 25% more durability on those tools as well as weapons. Wes had 2 changes with tools and weapons. Wes has always had the ability to go insane when he wanted, but he now has perfect sanity control. You can also use party balloons to traverse sanity gates in the atrium. You can then pop the party balloons to get back all of your sanity essentially giving all of the upsides of blue caps with none of the downsides. After doing this, you heal up your hp with blue caps and lose 0 of your 0 sanity. Before you eat the blue caps to heal up, you convert your remaining sanity into party balloons (as you cannot make balloons with 0 sanity). Let's say you are doing a ruins rush and using blue caps to heal. You can effectively save as much sanity as you want at your base or at strategic parts around the world.Īn example of when party balloon can be super effective. This allows Wes to heal his teammates sanity (which is really important when playing with new players who struggle with nightmares) but it also allows Wes to go insane intentionally and bank the sanity for later. It caps at 4 balloons stacking at a time, but you can spread out groups of 4 balloons which when popped give you and your nearby allies 20 sanity over 5 seconds. This makes exploration and ruins rushes a lot faster for Wes as he can find the things that he needs more quickly. Even if you just hold it for 80 seconds you average a 25% speed buff from day 1. Speed balloon is obviously insane in the early game. He got a lot stronger with the update, but it's not super obvious power so most people won't notice.
